We live in Shanghai. Our chinese friends recommended Hangzhou as a honey moon destination. We booked this two days hangzhou tour at the last minute and everything was confirmed swiftly. We booked a Hangzhou tour for 6 people and David was our tour guide. We had the most amazing time visiting the local attractions, such as the lake (We took a boat ride on westlake), the Guo's villa (My favorite place during the tour), tea plantation and the old street. David was the best guide I had ever met, he explained everything with passion and made the trip a lot of fun. The tour was extremely organised and attention was paid to detail. We were made to feel very welcome. We were also taken to a local tea farmer's restaurant with delicious food. I would highly recommend David and the company if you want a tailored tour which will show the best places with a local touch! Absolutely great!

Our tour guide, Bonnie spoke excellent English and was a Hangzhou local herself. I particularly liked the flexibility in planning my own itinerary (ie places of attraction/food places that I wanted to visit). Communication with Hangzhou Private Tour was also very easy and straightforward - their responses were prompt and very helpful. The price was very reasonable compared to the other tour agencies I looked at.

We just had half a day tour in Hangzhou to see some sights and organised the day before. Our tour guide Tommy took us to a number of sights some that he thought we would like and some that I wanted to see. It worked very well. we enjoyed the day and learned a lot from Tommy.

I thoroughly recommend Hangzhou Private Tour to anyone visiting the Hangzhou region. I organised my tour at very short notice (the day before) and was perfectly looked after. I was staying in Shanghai and my trip planner Sam was extremely helpful in advising me the best way to get to Hangzhou from Shanghai for the tour.

My tour guide Tommy picked me up from the station and led me on a fantastic day tour of the town. The weather for the day was quite dreary which made for difficult viewing of the lake.

Due to the weather Tommy suggested some different places to visit which were fantastic. I really enjoyed the visiting to the Guo's villa, a reach people's house in the ancient china. Tommy's knowledge of the Hangzhou area was phenomenal!! His English is fantastic and he makes you feel completely comfortable on the tour.

It is extremely difficult to find English speaking people in this area but Hangzhou Private Tour caters to the English speaking market beautifully.

I will definitely be using this company again to do a Springtime tour.

We came from Shanghai to Hangzhou for a quick day trip. Our guide, Tommy, showed us the best of Hangzhou within limited time. The itinerary was very well organised and well paced. Since I don't like rushed tours, this was very suitable for me. Moreover, Tommy is very friendly and knowledgeable. Although I speak Mandarin, I grew up in Canada so I am not very well-educated in Chinese culture. Whenever I didn't understand something, Tommy would be able explain the history and story behind each attraction in a very simple way so I can better appreciate the cultural connotations associated with the attractions. Overall, would highly recommend this to either solo or small groups travelling in the region - I guarantee you won't be able to find anything better :)

I custom designed my itinerary, hiring a private driver to take me and my husband from Shanghai to Wuzhen for a day's visit and then to Hangzhou where we would stay for 3 nights. We would spend the first day touring West Lake by ourselves and then the next day being driven around by our private driver to my handpicked destinations as well as other tourist hotspots.

I enquired online but many tour companies ignored my custom request and simply replied with a set itinerary and ambiguous charges. Hangzhou Private Tour was not only the one who responded the quickest, but also the one who was totally accommodating and quoted on exactly what I wanted. The quote I was given was very reasonable so I booked with his company. He sent me a confirmation promptly and also provided me with the name and contact numbers of my driver/guide.

Our tour guide David was an excellent guide and the bonus was that he was a food enthusiast and had tried most of the restaurants in Hangzhou. He took us to excellent restaurants, including ones known only to the locals. The food was heavenly and the bill ended up cheaper than breakfast at our hotel!

Also there were no "shopping" stops except when I specifically asked him to take me to a Long Jing tea house to buy some Dragon Well Tea. The tea I got was superb!
