Overview
You may ever hear about the largest Canyon in the world is Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon at West China. However, have you heard about the first one Grand Canyon in Zhejiang province at East China?
Located in the boundary of Zhejiang and Anhui Province, the Zhexi Grand Canyon has high mountains and rapid currents. It is in the shape of long and narrow endless bands with a total length of more than 80 kilometers. It is composed of three scenic sections.
Layout & Function
The first scenic section is "Longjing Canyon". With a length of about 18 kilometers, it has exotic peaks, graceful waterfall and dangerous and steep rocks with a reputation of "White Horse Cliff sticking out in the middle and Plowing above the Yellow Ox Cliff".
The second scenic section is "Shangxi Canyon". With a length of about 26 kilometers, it has a high and steep topography, rapid currents and exotic and interesting mountain stones. It is also a sole production area of the national treaure chicken-blood stone.
The third scenic section is "Zhemen Canyon". With a total length of about 30 kilometers, it has layers of mountain waterfall and flowing stone mist as well as exotic and wonderful landscapes of large and small stone gate caves which enjoy an extremely high reputations.
The main scenic spots include the Cormorant Pool, Diaoshui Rock, Zhelin (cudrania forest) Waterfall, Jinmen Custom, Xishui (Playing with Water) Beach, Shixiang (Lion and Elephant) Bay and Baxian (Eight Immortal) Pool, which all spread along the Tangku highway. The round trip covers about 40 kilometers.

How to get there:
1.From Hangzhou to Zhexi Grand Canyon: The Hangzhou West Coach Station has buses heading for Daoshi every noon. Getting off at the Taiping Bridge, you will reach the gate of the Tianhu Resort. The fare is 14 yuan.
2. You may take a bus to Changhua first, which will cost you12.6 yuan, and then transfer to a small minivan-style taxi (5 yuan) to get to Taiping Bridge stop, or you may also charter a taxi (80 yuan, you may reach the gate of the scenic area in half an hour) after getting to Changhua.
3. From the urban areas of Lin'an City, you may take the Zhexi Grand Canyon special line bus. It leaves Lin'an at 7:30 and returns to Lin'an at 16:30 every day.
Tips:
If you take the Grand Canyon special line bus in Lin'an City, you need to book the ticket one day in advance. The fare is 78 yuan (including the admission ticket, a return ticket, guide fee, and insurance fee). The ticket office is on No.421 Yijin Street (beside the Linhua supermarket opposite to the King Qian Mausoleum).
If you take the Grand Canyon special line bus in Lin'an City, you need to book the ticket one day in advance.
