A Brief Introdution
The Chaoshan Hill Scenic Area is located 29 kilometers northeast of Hangzhou, The hill covered in a sea of mume blossom, which since the Tang Dynasty (619-907) has captured the hearts of many spring holidaymakers.

With the name Chaoshan Hill, literally meaning a hill surpassing other hills, it is no wonder that it is higher than all the hills around. Not only recognised as one of China’s top three resorts for enjoying mume blossom, Chaoshan Hill is also home to two ancient mume trees, whose roots date back to the Tang (618-907) and Song (960-1279) dynasties.

Why visit Chaoshan Hill Scenic Area
Chaoshan Hill is one of the three traditional places to view plum blossoms in east China south of the Yangzte River and is known poetically as the Sea of Fragrant Snow. The plum trees on Chaoshan Hill are noted for their unique shapes and two of China's five ancient plum trees still surviving are found here -- Tangmei dating from the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907) and Songmei from the Song Dynasty (960-1279).

More than 50 hectares of plum trees are blossoming all over Chaoshan Hill in Yuhang District, inviting visitors to the Chaoshan Plum Blossom Festival which opens today and will last through March 18. Apart from sightseeing and taking photos of white and pink clouds of blum blossoms, visitors can also sample local delicacies and see exhibitions of ceramic works, paintings and art photographs.

Facilitate Traffic
Since Shanghai and Hangzhou are linked by a new high-speed rail, visitors from Shanghai can reach Yuhang in less than 40 minutes to enjoy the scenery of the so-called Sea of Fragrant Snow.

Transportation
Take Bus No. K309, K338, K509 to Linping Bus Stop (??) and transfer to bus No. 319 to Chaoshan (??); or take the free shuttle bus from the tourist centre at Huanglong Stadium (??????) to Chaoshan.
