Romance of Song Dynasty Show
The Romance of the Song Dynasty is based on the history and mythology in Hangzhou Region and the performance combines singing, dancing and acrobatics together. The well-known folk stories and legends, such as the love story between Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, are all absorbed by this play.

Tea Houses

Chenghuang Teahouse is adjacent to Heavenly Wind over Wu Hill (Wu Shan Tian Feng).

The tea house is decked out in simple and elegant style, with wood furniture. There are tea ceremony demonstrations and traditional Chinese music performances in the evening. You can enjoy a good view of Wu Mountain while sipping a cup of tea and tasting pastries. It is the best place for relaxation.

Hu Pan Ju (Lakeside Teahouse), located at the northeastern corner of West Lake sits one of Hangzhou's most famous tea houses. Founded in 1998, this lakeside spot offers an overflowing buffet, calming views, and of course, endless pots of tea. Not the cheapest place to kick back and relax, but perhaps one of the prettiest.

Qing Teng Tea House is also a popular spot located close to the West Lake. Besides enjoying various kinds of tea, you could also have a simple buffet for free, including fruits, dim sum and local snacks.

Clubs & Pubs

In Hangzhou, there are bars that rock and there are ones that especially cater to those white collars whose marriages have perhaps hit rock bottom. The bars that rock tend to have good music, a wide range of reasonably priced drinks, and plenty of expert foreign advice. Several bars come to mind that are frequented by expats, travelers, college students and connoisseurs who are interested in good drinks, occasional live music and maybe some background sporting events on the big screens.

Hangzhou JZ Bar Hangzhou’s premier jazz venue, JZ Club, continues to bring some of the best performers from China and abroad here to our city.

The 3-story space offers intimate seating everywhere, with the first floor being non-smoking out of respect to the performers. The revamped wine list is one of the best in the city, and their selection of single malt whiskeys will satisfy even the most discerning of drinkers. Nice food is also available if you’re feeling a bit peckish. Simply put, if you’re looking for jazz in Hangzhou, nobody does it better than JZ.

Traveller, shuguang road is the bar street for sure, and this place is one of the old granddaddies. Traveller has been here for ages, and the reason for its staying power is the good, live music that they pull in.

They even manage to get some interesting acts from all over the world. Talking and listening are both possible in this Swiss-looking haunt. Go early on the weekends because it fills up quick. Live music. Food available.

KTVCine (karaoke)

Party World, Here you’ve got the big boy in town. It’s open 24 hours a day, and people are there singing their lungs out throughout.

Party World is one of the priciest places in town, but you get what you pay for with the best sound system and the largest list of songs to choose from – from new to classic, in Chinese, English, Japanese… The service is great and the buffet cheap. BTW, if you wanna throw a party somewhere cozy, you can get one of the super spacey party rooms.

Yin Le Di KTV is the biggest chain in town. These places are not as luxurious as Party World, but then again the price is much more reasonable. The sound system is pretty good, and most of the time you can find the songs you like. It’s the most ideal place for the young to chill without spending a lot of money. The one in West Town even has a pretty good selection of English tunes.
