My wife Sarah and I had an incredible time in Hangzhou. We started off with a relaxing West Lake Boat Cruise, which was a perfect introduction to the city.

The highlight for us was definitely Leifeng Pagoda. We were both captivated by the legend of the White Snake—such a magical story! The views from the top were spectacular, and learning about the pagoda’s history and its connection to the legend made it all the more fascinating. I’m really into history, so the backstory was awesome for me, and Sarah was mesmerized by how the legend fit with the gorgeous views.

Another fantastic part of our trip was visiting Meijiawu Tea Plantation. Tasting Longjing tea was a real treat. I enjoyed learning all about how the tea is made and its significance, while Sarah loved the peaceful vibe of the tea fields. It was a great way to dive into Chinese tea culture.

Leifeng Pagoda and Meijiawu Tea Plantation gave us unforgettable experiences and a deeper appreciation for China’s rich heritage.

We kicked off our trip with a relaxing West Lake Boat Cruise, which was the perfect way to take in the city’s stunning scenery. The tranquil atmosphere at Viewing Fish at the Flower Pond was equally delightful, offering a serene escape amid the lush surroundings.

A major highlight was our visit to the China National Tea Museum. We delved deep into the history and cultural significance of Chinese tea, which really enriched our understanding. Sampling Longjing tea at the Meijiawu Tea Plantation was a standout experience. The tea was incredibly fresh and fragrant, and the chance to see the tea-making process up close was fascinating.

Our guide also recommended some fantastic local restaurants, and the food was exceptional. We tried a variety of Hangzhou specialties, and each dish was more delicious than the last. The flavors were vibrant and authentic, and we’ve been raving about the meals ever since.

Our trip to Hangzhou was everything we hoped for and more. We came away with fantastic memories, a deeper appreciation for Chinese tea, and a new love for Hangzhou's incredible cuisine.

As a die-hard traveler, my first trip to Hangzhou was absolutely amazing. Taking the high-speed train from Shanghai was a breeze—super fast and convenient, which made the start of my adventure smooth and easy.

We kicked things off with a West Lake Boat Cruise, and it was simply breathtaking. The calm waters and stunning scenery were so relaxing and set the perfect tone for the trip. After that, we explored Lingyin Temple. The peaceful vibe and deep cultural history of the place gave me a real sense of China’s rich traditions.

Then we headed to the Meijiawu Tea Plantation, which was definitely a highlight. Walking through the vibrant tea fields and learning about how tea is made was fascinating. Sampling the fresh Longjing tea in such a beautiful, tranquil setting was a real treat.

The grand finale was climbing Chenghuang Pavilion. The climb itself was a bit of a workout, but totally worth it for the view at the top. From there, the panorama of Hangzhou was stunning—West Lake shimmering in the distance, the city lights twinkling below, and the hills framing it all. The sunset view was especially magical, with the golden light casting a warm glow over everything. It was the perfect way to wrap up my visit and see Hangzhou from a whole new perspective.

Our recent trip to China was nothing short of magical. We kicked off our adventure with a serene West Lake Boat Cruise, gliding across the calm waters and soaking in the breathtaking beauty of Hangzhou. Our son was absolutely thrilled, his eyes wide with wonder at the stunning landscapes that unfolded before us.

The Meijiawu Tea Plantation was a true highlight of our journey. Walking among the rolling tea fields, we marveled at the vibrant green leaves sparkling in the sunlight. The local tea farmers warmly welcomed us, teaching us the delicate art of picking tender tea leaves. It was fascinating to see their skill in action. After the harvest, we enjoyed a tea-tasting session in a quaint, rustic tea house. Sampling various teas, including the renowned Longjing (Dragon Well) tea, and learning about their aromas and flavors was a sensory delight.

Strolling along the Bamboo-lined Path at Yunqi was like stepping into a tranquil haven. The tall, graceful bamboo stalks created a serene, almost otherworldly atmosphere that was perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature.

Hefang Street brought a vibrant energy to our trip. The bustling market was alive with charming shops, mouthwatering local treats, and stunning historical architecture. The lively atmosphere made for an engaging and fun experience for all of us.

The grand finale of our trip was the Impression West Lake Show, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Set against the stunning backdrop of West Lake, the performance blended traditional music, dance, and dramatic visuals into a mesmerizing spectacle. The use of the lake and its surroundings as a stage created a truly immersive experience. Our son was completely captivated by the show, and the entire family was spellbound by the enchanting display of Chinese artistry and folklore.

In summary, our trip was a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural richness, and unforgettable moments. We returned home with our hearts full and minds buzzing with wonderful memories that we will cherish forever.

Our trip to China was absolutely amazing! We’re a family of five from Singapore, and we were super excited to visit Hangzhou, Wuzhen, and Suzhou—places known as “heaven on earth.”

We kicked things off in Hangzhou with a boat cruise on West Lake. The boat ride was so relaxing, with a gentle breeze and smooth sailing that had us all unwinding right away. The kids were especially thrilled with the ride, and the view of the lake and its surroundings was like something out of a storybook. Wandering around the Flower Pond, watching colorful koi fish swim, was another highlight that we all enjoyed.

Next, we explored Guo Garden and the Meijiawu Tea Plantation. Guo Garden’s classical design was a perfect example of traditional Chinese landscaping. At Meijiawu, we got to see how tea is grown and made, and we even tasted some authentic Longjing tea. The flavors were incredible and gave us a new appreciation for Chinese tea culture. Plus, Hangzhou’s food was fantastic—trying out all the local dishes was a real treat!

On our second day, we checked out more of Hangzhou’s famous spots. Lingyin Temple was so peaceful and gave us a deeper understanding of Chinese Buddhism. The Bamboo-lined Path at Yunqi was a beautiful escape from the city hustle. The Six Harmonies Pagoda offered stunning views from the top, and walking around Hefang Street, with its delicious snacks and cool crafts, was a blast.

Then we made our way to Wuzhen. This water town’s old-world charm and laid-back vibe were perfect for a relaxing visit. The shadow puppet show was a big hit with the kids—they loved the colorful puppets and the engaging story. As we settled into our seats in the intimate theater, the soft glow of the lanterns set a magical atmosphere. The shadow puppets, made from intricately carved leather, danced gracefully against the illuminated screen. Each puppet had vibrant colors and elaborate details that made the characters come alive. The performers skillfully manipulated the puppets with rods, creating fluid movements that told enchanting stories from ancient Chinese folklore. The narration and traditional music added layers of emotion, making the experience captivating for both kids and adults. We also stopped by the Jiangnan Hundred Beds Museum and the Folk Custom Museum, which were great for learning about local traditions and crafts.

The best part was taking the high-speed train from Wuzhen to Suzhou. The business class seats were super comfy, and the ride was fast, with beautiful countryside views passing by. It was a smooth and enjoyable trip.

Once we got to Suzhou, we were blown away by the gardens. Lion Grove Garden and Master of the Nets Garden were stunning examples of classical Chinese garden design.

In Suzhou, the gardens were absolutely mesmerizing. At Lion Grove Garden, we wandered through a labyrinth of fantastically shaped rock formations, some resembling lions and others forming hidden pathways and secluded courtyards. The design was a marvel of creativity, offering delightful surprises around every corner. Master of the Nets Garden, on the other hand, was a masterpiece of harmony and elegance. The garden’s layout featured a delicate balance of water features, pavilions, and rock formations, creating a serene retreat where every element seemed perfectly placed to evoke tranquility.

We also visited the Panmen Scenic Area, where the ancient city walls and water gates gave us a glimpse into Suzhou’s historical defenses. Hanshan Temple’s bell tower echoed through the surrounding landscape, creating a peaceful atmosphere perfect for reflection. Tiger Hill, with its leaning pagoda and historical significance, offered panoramic views and a fascinating look at Suzhou’s past. We also explored the Hanshan Temple, and Tiger Hill, which gave us a deeper look into Suzhou’s history and culture.

Overall, this trip to China was a fantastic experience. We got to see the beautiful sights of Hangzhou, Wuzhen, and Suzhou, and dive into China’s rich history and traditions. From the comfy high-speed train ride to the delicious food, gorgeous gardens, and memorable cultural experiences, everything was perfect. We’re thrilled with this trip and can’t wait to explore more of China’s wonders in the future!

The guide’s detailed account of Yue Fei’s life and his place in Chinese history gave me a profound respect for this legendary figure. Standing in front of the temple, I could feel the strong sense of national pride and spirit.

At the Meijiawu Tea Plantation, I was captivated by the aroma of the tea and the serene environment. The guide’s thorough explanation of Chinese tea culture—from the cultivation of tea leaves to the rituals of tea preparation—provided me with a deep appreciation for this traditional art. Experiencing tea ceremonies firsthand was both enjoyable and enlightening.

My friend and I just finished our first trip to Hangzhou, and we are thrilled to share our incredible experience! As tea enthusiasts, this itinerary was perfect for us.

Meijiawu Tea Plantation was definitely our favorite part! We had a fantastic time strolling through the lush tea fields and even got hands-on experience with tea picking. We picked fresh tea leaves ourselves and learned about the meticulous process of tea production. After harvesting, we enjoyed a delightful tea tasting session right there in the plantation. The tea we sampled was fragrant and full of flavor, and the whole experience was both educational and enjoyable.

My friend was particularly fascinated by the story of the Longjing Eighteen Imperial Trees. After visiting the China National Tea Museum and the Longjing Imperial Tea Garden, we gained a deeper understanding of these legendary trees. The guide’s storytelling made her more intrigued by the history of Longjing tea!

The West Lake Boat Cruise, Viewing Fish at the Flower Pond, and the Tea Museum were all fantastic, but we still can’t forget the unique experience we had at Meijiawu. If you're a tea lover, you definitely can’t miss this!!!
