I recently took a memorable trip through China with my parents, and it turned out to be an incredible experience. I was initially worried about how my parents would manage the travel, but our guide was amazing at addressing these concerns. They adjusted our itinerary to reduce walking and made sure everything was comfortable for us, even arranging for cable car rides in Huangshan, which was a huge help.
In Shanghai, we started with Yuyuan Garden, where the classical Chinese landscaping was truly stunning. The bustling bazaar nearby offered a great taste of local culture. We then explored the Old French Concession with its charming streets and colonial architecture, followed by Tianzifang, a lively arts and crafts area. The Jade Buddha Temple was serene and impressive, and a stroll along the Bund provided breathtaking views of Shanghai’s skyline.
Traveling to Suzhou by bullet train was seamless. We visited the Humble Administrator's Garden, renowned for its exquisite classical design, and wandered through Pingjiang Road, a historic street with picturesque canals. The Panmen Scenic Area showcased Suzhou's ancient city walls and beautiful surroundings, while Hanshan Temple offered a peaceful retreat with its rich history and famous bell.
In Hangzhou, we began with a serene West Lake Boat Cruise, followed by a visit to Viewing Fish at the Flower Pond, where the tranquil setting was perfect for relaxing. At Meijiawu Tea Plantation, we enjoyed learning about Longjing tea and its traditional brewing methods. The Bamboo-lined Path at Yunqi provided a cool and refreshing walk through lush greenery.
We then explored the Grand Canal Historic Blocks, where the old canal life was vividly preserved, and Hefang Street, a lively area filled with local snacks, shops, and historic architecture.
Our journey to Huangshan by bullet train was smooth, and taking the cable car up to Shixin Peak, Brush Pen Peak, and Bright Summit made the climb easy and enjoyable. The Strange Rocks Area was fascinating with its unique rock formations. Watching the sunrise over Huangshan was a magical experience, and visiting Lion Peak provided some of the best views of the mountain.
Thanks to our guide’s thoughtful adjustments, the trip was comfortable and enjoyable for my parents and me. This was truly a memorable family adventure, and I highly recommend this trip for anyone traveling with loved ones!
